The Logistics Coordinator will play a pivotal role in optimizing the inbound shipment process through the strategic utilization of AS400, DockVue and TMS/NCR. The Logistics Coordinator encompasses a wide range of responsibilities related to the planning, coordination, and management of the movement of goods and materials within the Company. The Logistics Coordinator will have an eye for detail, a keen analytical mind, superb communication, and outstanding negotiation skills. The Logistics Coordinator will report to the VP of Operations. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collect data and provide insightful reports and metrics on a regular basis to the Upper Management of the Operations and Purchasing departments regarding but not limited to the performance of the inbound program.
• Conduct thorough analysis of inbound truckload shipments to optimize quality and cost-effectiveness. 
• Evaluate carriers based on service, rates, and responsiveness.
• Evaluate vendors and recommend consolidations of less-than-truckload shipments into truckload shipments where feasible. 
• Coordinate the backhaul capabilities within our Company fleet in collaboration with buyers, suppliers, and transportation. 
• Collaborate closely with the Purchasing team to align order patterns with inventory levels, thus lowering days of inventory on hand. 
• Skillfully negotiate rates and service agreements with carriers to secure optimal service levels at competitive rates. 
• Assembles and updates current and possible lanes for bids to carriers.
• Processes freight claims, ensuring prompt and efficient resolutions. 
• Generate documents for Peachtree Freight Logistics carrier invoicing to accounting; to bill the company at the existing vendor freight allowance, competitive LTL, or truckload freight rate, so the savings from the above truck load, consolidation or backhaul may be applied properly. 
• Become familiar with the rail, truck and local cartage operators servicing the distribution center or local area.
• Work closely with Operations to identify vendors that consistently deliver late and improve receiving procedures where needed.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 2 years of logistics coordination is highly preferred. 
• Understanding of the supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must. 
• Familiarity with AS400, DockVue and TMS/NCR systems.
• Computer savvy. Knowledge of G-suite, Microsoft Office, and Slack is preferred.
• Highly organized with outstanding time management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Purchasing, Operations, and other departments. 

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift/move up to 25 lbs.
• There may be significant walking (up to 8 hours).
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Frequently required to use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keyboard, and talk or hear.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, squat, turn/twist body, push and/or pull, stand, kneel and walk.

Work Conditions:

• Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure, navigate tense situations and communicate professionally with persons of all backgrounds.
• Will work in close proximity to other warehouse workers and office personnel.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The temperature of the warehouse may be cold.

Schedule: Monday to Friday - 7:00 am to 3:00 pm

Salary Range: $70,000 to $89,000 per year DOE

Location: In Person in Brisbane, CA
